Motivate and empower our people
Our people are key to the success of our business and go the extra mile at all times. They are empowered to make a difference and work with our customers at all stages throughout the process. Our recent successes are a celebration of their hard work and commitment. They bring;
We are proactive in our approach to employee progression and career development. Our ethos of promoting from within combined with our passion for employee empowerment and engagement have helped us to retain the best people. Spending time developing our people has made our business the success it is today.
Our living wage and investors in people accreditations display our commitment to our people and their long term employment at Connolly Ltd.
Our business is vastly experienced in the delivery of apprenticeship opportunities. Over 75% of our senior leadership team initially started their careers as apprentices and therefore fully understand the challenges involved. It is our job to ensure we don’t fail new entrants into the industry, providing them with every chance of developing the apprenticeship into a long term employment opportunity.
Within our current business around 10% of our employees are apprentices (26no), all of whom have the opportunity to be trained to NVQ level 3.
At Connolly Ltd we utilise our people to deliver our social value strategy. Whilst our social value strategy is already closely aligned to the objectives outlined in the GMCA Social Value Framework, we are able to deliver significant results due to our use of a strength based approach.
Our people are the key to fully understanding local people and their communities. We find that opportunities for developing sustainability fail, when organisations are too reliant on monetary donations from local businesses and organisation and wider community. We look to manage the expectations of community groups by presenting our offer of involvement through our existing social value model – how / why / what model.
This model is developed further into a strategic social value plan, which is specifically tailored to each individual project. The development process involves a review of the process, the principles, the community structure, the design structure and the values ensuring we mirror the values set out our clients requirements.
We utilise our in house social value manager for the process of engagement with our clients. Having an experienced and well connected member of the team helps to streamline the process, ensure the correct stakeholders are involved, plans, monitors and reviews agreed actions and delivers the proposed outcomes highlighted.
